Squash is more than just a vegetable

I just learned today that squash is more than just a vegetable. It is also a sport. I had no idea such a thing existed. I stumbled upon a live feed on FB of the Squash quarter finals in the U.S Open Squash. I don't even know why it showed up in my feed. Squash is played with a ball and a racket. I am now curious to learn more about it.

My father played squash when I was young. So squash is a vegetable, sport and a verb - squashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh. Waheehee.

I thought it was dashing through the snow. But I can see someone squashing through it as well.

@Alexandoy I don't celebrate Christmas as I'm Jewish but I love this time of the year. And surprisingly, I was born on Christmas Eve.

My boss used to play squash at lunch time in the company gym.

@LindaOHio Thanks for clarifying that last part. I would have thought you really meant "the pool".

@lovebuglena No, it was a very male-run company. I had the good fortune to inherit my boss's job which was an executive position. The owner of the company came by and said, "Why isn't she in the pool with the rest of the girls?" The office pool of women secretaries, not a swimming pool.

It is a vegetable, a sport and a verb. Squash - press or crush something to pulp. We get bottled squash to prepare summer drinks in our shops.
