My New Obsession

Am now so concerned about my health and one is losing weight, so every morning before coffee, I get my digital weighing scale to see if there's any changes.
It sets my mood to go on this diet, and it inspires me to stick to it. After weighing, I write the data in my notebook, along with my blood pressure on that day. With this, I can compare my progress.
So my new obsession now is the weighing scale and the digital BP monitor. I just hope they are accurate or nearly accurate.

I am having fun with this diet; I can eat alternative cakes, bread, etc. using the right substitute for flour and sweets like almond flour and coconut flour, and stevia as sweetener.

@acelawrites I see. Are the substitutes not so expensive there? Almond and coconut flours are expensive in Germany.

It is good to watch your weight - eat less when you gain and eat more when you lose. That's my style to maintain my weight of 145 pounds.

I don't eat less; I eat more meat, eggs, and water and coffee; this diet does not make one hungry! Just avoid the carbs.

@acelawrites by meat, do you mean pork, chicken and beef? what about vegetables, fruits and fish?

@acelawrites I thought with intermittent fasting you can eat as much as you can after the fasting without gaining poundage anymore. he he

Maybe it's the same as my way of eating; low carb/intermittent fasting. I am enjoying it, but needs discipline when you are in front of so many sweet, tasty foods!

Yes, so many improvements. It is low carb/intermittent fasting. You won't go hungry but can eat as much as you can during feasting time, but no carbs and sweets.

I have been doing the same except my blood pressure monitor stopped working - but it's always been good. Sometimes I take my blood sugar because I struggle with hypoglycemia if I do not eat right.
Part of losing weight is enjoying life and getting enough rest. I pray you are doing well in those areas. :-)

It is hard to experience hypoglycemia, as I observe on my husband, so he has to avoid it by eating right. So thankful, am resting well with a sound sleep every night since I opted for this kind of diet. Thanks!

@acelawrites hypoglycemia can make you feel like you are going mad - but it's not hard to eat correctly

@WriterRuth yes, my husband has it sometimes when he failed to eat. He tremble and feels weak, so sometimes I ask him to carry chocolate or date fruit (from the Middle East).

I lost some 3.5 kilos in a month which is still slow probably due to slow metabolism and am not strictly following the diet.

perhaps a bit too much so? takin' yer blood pressure daily 'tis wise. hittin' the scales though, i'd need to question that. perhaps ya could switch to weekly? not a fan 'f diets myself. one needs to make lifestyle changes they'll stick with. eatin' well balanced healthy meals 'n snacks, gettin' plenty 'f 'xercise. do wish ya the best 'f luck.

I wanted to make it weekly; but the scales kept calling each time I wake up!

It sounds like you might be doing keto, from your comments to thelma. I've been doing that since may.
My favorite recipe is cauli ' ncheese. Made with heavy whipping cream, cream cheese and shredded cheese. Yummy.
I made some pumpkin desserts a few days ago but if I have a hard time sticking to the serving size u may go off sugar like I did for Atkins and that could help me lose faster.
The sweeteners seem to trigger my cravings for favorite candies. I can leave poured, cakes and cookies alone overall.

Keep at it for if it works for you it's good. Me I am eating yogurt for dinner this week, so I can weigh in at the doctors at a good weight.
Maybe I'm just fooling myself, but it makes a difference to loose weight, but feel that I'm not depriving myself too.
