I Believe I'll Turn Into a Tourist This Weekend

The leaves are turning fast on the trees in our area. Foliage season is upon us. We are being bombarded by what we call flatlanders.
Foliage season is great for our economy as those who seek a huge dose of eye candy head New England to indulge.
The traffic is crazy. People drive like they own the road. I have had several near misses by those who are preoccupied with things other than driving.
Yes, I understand the beauty of nature. I live it here. In order to fully enjoy it, I have to turn myself into a tourist. Doing so increases the pleasure of what Mother Nature has to offer.
As locals we often forget about the beauty of the area we live in. Embrace it and enjoy!

way back'n the day, we'd hop our harleys'n cruise 'long the mountains. stoppin' where we wished to find various waterfalls. the hills 'f tennessee 're quite beautiful this time 'f year. here there'd be no such beauty. a few sprigs 'f certain grasses 'll turn a burgundy, surrounded by drab browns'n yellows.
'bout 9 yrs 'go we did take a trip to northern new mexico durin' aspen fest. 'f course, 'twas 2-fold 's we'd gone to get wood fer winter. haulin' 3 cords 'f firewood makes one need to slow down'n take those moments 'f beauty, lol.
glad yer takin' the touristy 'pproach this season. get out'n 'njoy such all ya can. take loads 'f pics. let lil miss play 'mong those gorgeous leaves.

We can rake a pile here, but I fear that there will be other things lurking in those leaves. Bugs, ticks, and cat poop. LOL

We are venturing out again today. It is to go to a birthday party at my brother's house. My great-niece turned 16 today. He lives in an area that is abundant with beautiful trees. Can't wait to see the area.

The weekend was great. Was able to get out for a little bit today. Can't be in the sun til later this week because of the antibiotic. Once I am through with it, I will be basking in the warmth of ths sun's rays.

If we don't open our eyes to see the beauty that surrounds us, we miss out.

They really need to pay attention to what is going on around them. Scary thought to be nearly hit head on!!

The foliage this time of year really is beautiful and you are lucky to be able to see it first hand. I understand your frustration with the tourists

Backroads, mainroads, side streets, they are all congested with traffic. I am thankful that I no longer have to work. Driving to and from clients houses was a nightmare during foliage season. I was always late.
