Mistakes at checkout during my shopping trip to Whole Foods

Went to Whole Foods yesterday to get fresh coffee beans, cheese and some other stuff. One of the cheeses had a bad label and we weren't sure if it was gonna scan or not. The past few times when this happened they just gave us the cheese for free. This time that didn't happen.
The cheese didn't scan, so the lady scanned another cheese we had gotten twice. I don't know if she scanned it twice by accident or to compensate for the cheese that wouldn't scan. I only noticed that once we were already in the car driving home. I told hubby about it and said we have to go back to the store to get our money back ($4 and change). He didn't want to do that.
The price of the cheese that was scanned twice was actually lower than the price of the cheese that wouldn't scan, so I let it go. But if it were me I would've still gone back to get my money back. Even $4 is a good amount of money to just let go. And I'd still have the free cheese.
I also noticed that instead of two croissants she had rung up two rolls. And that's after she looked at the bag. I guess she can't tell the difference between the two.
So instead of the usual $5 we paid $2. If I had gone back to the store I surely wouldn't have mentioned that at customer service.

It is frustrating to find mistakes on the receipt when you reach home.

@lovebuglena for small amounts you just let it pass when you are in a hurry.

I also noticed, but that actually happened before we left the store, that the pears she had rung up were the wrong ones. I asked hubby if he actually got the pears I told him to get 'cause the ones she had rung up were next to them on the shelf. He said that he did. I asked him how much they were per pound and he told me he had no idea and we just left the store. I hope our pears were priced at $1.49 per pound (or less) and we did not over pay. I'd have gone back to check but I could tell he wanted to leave the store already, so let it go. He was very hungry.

@Alexandoy I wouldn't. I went back for twenty cents before but then again I was by the store. It's not necessarily getting those twenty cents that was important but the principle of it. Why should I have to overpay for something?

It would be nice if they would give me something for free or a reduced bill.

I would never say no to a discount or even free stuff.

There are many locations in NYC so it's a chain. There is Whole Foods in the state of NJ too. Not sure about other states.

That's another reason why automated checkout is taking over.

By automated checkout you mean self-checkout?

I think you did OK at the store even if you didn't get a free cheese.

The fact that she scanned the other cheese twice and messed up on the croissants compensated for the cheese that wouldn't scan.

I had a confusing day myself! I went to the store and put a box of k cups in the cart. Then, I placed a bag of straws in the cart. At checkout, I simply had forgotten about the straws & I did not even notice them. When the cashier rang up my total, I said to her, "that much tax?" LOL

We weren't that far away... We could've still gone back. If I am overcharged I want my money back.
