This is the third time this week I have been followed by people who are clearly only interested in sharing their website. Or sharing the website they are on. I really don't know what you want but you aren't getting it from me!
I can see them following as many people as they can to get the attention they desire. And no doubt people will want to check out their site and that is fine but far out!
The one who just followed me now has only joined today but already following 27152 MyLotters. Are you really that desperate for people to check out your account on other sites? Bugger off with your priz best web shite. Not interested! 
Do whatever you need to do to earn your money or feed your self esteem but clearly MyLot is not that sort of site! Friggen duh!

1. do you receive these through PM here?
2. do you automatically follow people who follow you?
3. is you PM settings here set to "Anyone can message me, except for those I've blocked?"
suggestion/solution:
1. don't automatically follow anyone who follows you
2. go to Settings then change your Message Preferences to "Only those I follow can message me"
3. if someone who you gave a chance/benefit of the doubt, turned into someone unpleasant, unfollow them.
if your PM setting is still "Only those I follow can message me" then they can't send you PMs anymore
4. mylot admin wants to know who these people are so their account can be deleted/banned.

@hereandthere I never got a PM. I said I got followed by these people but I can clearly see what they are really about and not genuinely wanting to MyLot.
And no I never follow anyone just because they follow me. I follow people when I want to and if I want to.
Yes anyone can message me here but that wasn't the issue. I'm talking about people who only come on here to follow so many people just to get attention. I never received a message regarding this site.
Thank you for your suggestions and solutions but I'm sure my answers above can show that I'm not someone who just follows people and I never got a message. And yes I know how the settings, follow / unfollow thing works here. I've been here for way longer than what this account says. Thank you kindly.

@hereandthere Almost certainly, you will get the "Whoops!" page when you try to access their profile because I will have banned the user. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't delete the notifications which have already got through.

i think these people join then contact members through PM. but since you have the PM feature turned off, you're safe from them.

@VivaLaDani13 I went to my notification settings and the box is checked next to Follows me on mylot. Guess that guy did not follow me because I had no notification for that.

And I can only guess you weren't followed if you never get notified. Unless that person was banned not long after you were followed. Once they are banned, that notification goes away.

@vsai2008 I never got a message either. I was only followed but can see what they are up to. I have had messages here and there regarding other sites though. I simply say "No thank you" but if they continue then I will be much more stricter. I'm glad you rarely get those types of messages.

@Ladanger Me too! There was one week where a lot of them were from the same place and mainly communicating between themselves. I kinda wondered if it was just one person as their writing style looked very similar.

@arthurchappell lol true! Though admin did explain that there is a program they can use that automatically follows people very quickly. I had never heard of something like that before. I'm sure of great use to people like them but a great nuisance to all of us receiving these follows.

@VivaLaDani13 I used to be part of a chat site wherein I was a moderator. It was horrible because there was this one guy who would constantly come in and spam all the time. We'd ban him and he'd come back again and again. it really got under my skin, so I know how you feel.
