National Taco Day was recently celebrated on October 4, 2019. Then I came across the phrase "Taco Tuesday" while surfing the web. Do you know what "Taco Tuesday is all about?" Have you ever attended one?
I have heard of the term but never knew about the origins or what it was all about. So, I've never went to one. Anyway, if your unfamiliar with this special evening here is some information that explains the term and its origins.
TACO TUESDAY ORIGIN
"According to The Strange History of Taco Tuesday, the promotional phrase was started in 1982 by a chain called Taco John’s based out of Cheyenne, Wyoming. In fact, Taco John’s placed a registered trademark on the phrase in 1989 to attach it to their brand."
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR RESTAURANT DINERS
"Taco Tuesday is a custom in many US cities of going out to eat tacos or in some cases select Mexican dishes typically served in a tortilla on Tuesday nights. Restaurants will often offer special prices, for example, "$1 fish tacos every Tuesday night". It is popular in many big cities across the nation and especially popular in the beach cities of Southern California. Taco Tuesday is similar to Happy Hour in that restaurants vary in their participation, hours, and specials offered."
Which brings us to our final questions. How do you feel about tacos? Thumbs Up of Down?
My favorites are fish tacos and ones with ground meat. What's yours?

I knew of the saying, but I thought it was to just get people to eat out on Tuesday because most people eat out on the weekend.
I have never been brave enough to try fish tacos.

Now your part of the taco in crowd, ha, ha... Fish tacos are not bad. Just make sure they bring some extra tartar or cocktail sauce otherwise can taste a little dry

Of course! Everyday can be taco day
Tacos come in so many varieties. Other types of interesting taco combos are seafood, chicken, turkey and pork.

@dgobucks226 Gyros are made using soft Arab (or Greek) bread, I think that tacos are dry crispy corn bread.

@LadyDuck Oh yes, maybe a burrito then, which uses a flour tortilla which are softer. Anyway, both are stuffed with food items.

Yes, let's just put a "T" in front of all the days of the week and "party." A nice Margarita would go nice with those tacos
I also like beef ones but have had chicken too. Many other varieties also available like pork and turkey.

I find it funny that it originated in Wyoming. I don't think of tacos when I think of Wyoming but what do I know? lol
Yes, taco Tuesdays are great and I have taken advantage of the low prices in several of the areas I have lived.

Yes, a bit odd someone from Wyoming originated that phrase to promote his tacos. You would think it would have been more in the southwest. Anyway, kudos to his ingenuity.
Good for you for taking advantage of a good deal on tacos
