I'm working away on the AR-2ax loudspeakers that I brought home a week or two ago. My band mates and I are going to sell them and give the money to the wife of a fellow musician who passed away recently. At this stage, I'm sanding a scratched up surface with 150 grit sand paper. Once I get the whole surface sanded, I'll treat it with hot water (to reduce the scratches) and then repeat as necessary. This hobby of mine would be as enjoyable as watching paint dry for some. But for me it's a form of meditation.

There is nothing better in life than do what we like to do.

Very true. What's your favorite "relaxation exercise"?

If it brings me pleasure, and is not illegal, immoral, or fattening, I will do it.

Like people who enjoy colouring-in books. I can't think of anything worse.

I enjoy doing scribble scrabble with kids. It frees them up to do whatever hey want.

@TheHorse It's different for kids and, as far as adults go, to each his own. But just don't ask me to 'colour in'.

Do what you love and don't worry about what others think! I think it would be satisfying to restore an item to its original beauty. Have a great day!

I don't think anyone thinks I'm crazy for loving woodworking. But I sure do enjoy this work. I just did a surface now.

Do you use only one hand to sand, or do you switch every now and then?

Medicate away! Or do you want to talk about what is bothering you , that you feel like you need medication? I refinished a rocker for this old lady once, that was enough for me. My mother could do this work, I am not made for it.

Enjoy the project. Good to keep our minds and hands busy.
