A bobcat rescued by fishermen at Flathead Lake in Montana

It is kind of odd that a bobcat would stray away from shore and decide to take to swim into Lake Flathead in Missoula Montana.
Thanks to three fishermen who are Bob, Bobbi and Brett Hereford were fishing on Sunday when they saw a bobcat that was struggling to stay afloat in the lake.
My respects go to the Herefords for showing compassion for the poor animal by netting the bobcat, taking the animal to Finley Point when they went to the shore and released the bobcat.
I do not know about the behavior of bobcats, but I guess this bobcat did not make any attempts to attack his rescuers.

@Deepizzaguy He does look docile in the picture. I'm sure that's what he was thinking.

@just4him I do not know much about bobcats other than I would not mess with one since they can be aggressive toward strangers.

I agree with you since the bobcat must have been thinking "A fine mess I have gotten myself into."

how strange. I think that the cats hate waters, because they usually shout when showering.

@Behindtheguitarbar Most cats that I know hate water. Including my youngest cat Burt who does not like to go outside in the rain.

@Deepizzaguy maybe they do? Isn't it common that cats hate water?

The bobcat did not harm the fisherman at all. I am sure he was glad to be rescued from being in the lake.

That is true since not many fishermen would take in a bobcat into their boat since due to the fear factor.

I would think bobcats are rare now.

I do not hear much about bobcats these days other than company names of businesses.

I agree with you since a bobcat does deserve to enjoy life with the rest of us.

OMG that bobcat looks so adorable in that net I am glad he got rescued but how did the silly big kitty get into that water Could a big branch have extended over the water and when he climbed out on it, it broke? I wonder

That is a good question since how the bobcat entered the lake is not known.

Wow! That is very interesting. We have a lot of bobcats in our part of California. We even had one almost jump into my husband's golf cart one time, when it was chasing a rabbit on the golf course. I have never heard of one needing to be rescued from a lake, however. How strange.

A bobcat being rescued in a lake is kind of odd.
