My ex came over for a visit

We didn't go to lunch but he did spend a couple of hours here and we had a good time together. I was happy to be able to see him before he travels to London, England tomorrow evening.
He has accepted that he has probably been having a mid-life crisis and said that he would try to work through some things while he is away. I think it will take a lot longer than that but I'm glad that at least he recognizes that he is not in the right place mentally. I guess we both do these days.
We parted on good terms as always. He said he would talk to me when he got back but to get in touch if I needed anything while he is away. He is a good guy like that.

How long will he be in England? I hope it is enough so that he sorts out what he has to work. Did you both ever go to a counsellor?

@NJChicaa Maybe, if you dare, you should tell him to solve those crises with a doctor. I feel that, nice as he is, he takes you for granted. And I worry that you don´t have appetite.

I am glad that you two are still friends despite the divorce. My ex wife and I are the same way. We're probably closer now than we ever were when we were married.

@NJChicaa I can relate. But we made it through that part many years ago. I think with time you may make it through that as well.

Staying on good terms is the best medicine in the world, for a wounded relationship. Bruce and I never fought, which made both our lives a whole like easier. I didn't tell him that he was wrong. He already knew that.

@NJChicaa And you are right. When two people hate each other, it's a relief to part ways! Bruce and I never stopped loving one another, even though we both remarried. He was ashamed and I told him the past was all gone.

I was never able to remain friends with my exes!!! I have had a poem hanging for decades in my bathroom:
