We got our first harvest of tomatoes in years. Happy that it was a success. The plants are doing well. The size as you will see is not large but nothing like eating that which grows in one's garden. I have plans to grow tomatoes on a regular basis from now. on

That is wonderful! I have some that should be ripe in about two weeks. I can't believe my summer plants are still producing!

@allknowing Usually they are all dried up by September but I planted in a different spot this year so this is a first time having fruit from them this late in the year. I will be good as long as we don't have several nights in a row with freezing temperatures.

I had given up on vegetables but interest kept coming back and hence the results (lol) How long do your tomatoes yield?

They are looking good! It seems they are indiginous type, we call them as 'Desi' type. They are much sour in taste than the hybrid ones with good flavour/aroma. They do have good amount of seeds too, if I am not wrong!

For me what is important is they are home grown and I am not aware nor bothered if they are desi or hybrid!!!! Thank you for your encouragement.

@allknowing , I never meant anything negative about them. They are more tasty than the tomatoes which we get in the market.Yes, that gives a different pleasure to have garden grown vegetables! This year we had lot of beans at our place!

That's great you have the natural tomatoes. It must taste well because it contains your hard work

I am just waiting for them to turn completely red before using them. There are more on the plants. I am so happy with the results.
