What's worse than stepping on legos?

United States

We have all stepped on something at one time or another that made us retract our foot and go "ouch." Legos are one of the biggest culprits of this, but of course there are plenty of other things. I've even stepped on a door jamb and hurt my foot. I've stepped on nails and the casing between rooms (a metal strip that seals the kitchen from the den, or from the living room) and had that hurt before. Can you think of anything worse than stepping on legos? (Did you know that legos once made (not sure if they still do) a slipper you can wear when the children (or you) are playing with legos?

Ah yep, I've stepped on those before and even marbles can hurt if they hit your foot just right.

I know the feeling of stepping on Legos. My kids always have them in the floor.

Whenever I've stepped on them, it's always been the arch of the foot.

Oh yes, Like Four Walls, jacks was the first thing I thought of. Another thing is sand spurs, don't know if they grow where your at, but it's like getting a sharp pin stuck in your foot. I've also stepped on thumb tacks, which hurts like all get out to.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sand spurs have a little round things on it with like sharp pointy thorns of it. If you step on it,they will go into your foot like a needle. Wow, I know that thumb tack had to hurt!

@sweetashoney Ah okay, I do not think we have them here. Yes, it did. It was not fun to wake up to at all.

I'm not sure if Sand Spurs grow where I am or not. I know that there is a type of grass that is really rough on the feet, it doesn't hurt worse than legos because it's a different type of pain. Years ago when I was a teenager, I would use thumbtacks to tack up favorite photos of my celebrities. There was once that I had spilled some on the bed and thought I had gotten them all out. I hadn't. I went to bed and woke up during the night having rolled over on them. Ouch!

I suppose that stepping on a broken glass would be pretty horrible. I never walk barefoot.

I've stepped on broken glass before as well. I grew up walking barefoot, even outside. My family used to comment on it because it was just so natural to me. My dad did it to and I guess that's where I got it from. Even today, I will sometimes walk outside barefoot.

@LadyDuck I think one reason my father did it is because he had to weary steel toed shoes when working. He probably was relieved to have those shoes off of his feet and so went barefoot whever possible.

@ScribbledAdNauseum No one in my family ever walked barefoot, we all use slippers or house shoes inside.

For me, stepping on wet manure is the worst.

That is definitely very gross, and it's not just the smell but the feel of it on your foot. Especially a barefoot.

@Alexandoy Very Yuck. I've stepped in dog feces plenty of times because I spent my childhood outside and barefoot.

I have stepped on legos before when my child was still small. It really hurts.

Yes, it really does. Did you know they make a flip flop type shoe? I don't know if they still do, but I have seen pictures of a lego shoe. I do not think we had those when I was growing up.

@thelme55 We don't always think about putting any shoes on when the little ones are playing with their legos.

What's worse is stepping on legos with BOTH feet - and believe me it's happened! I've dropped a can on my foot - and it was the stupid edge of the can that landed on top of my toes too !

Oh yes, I have dropped a can on my foot! Both a soda can and a soup can. Although, if I had to say the worst thing? A pallet was dropped on my foot and it still had things on it. It hurt extremely bad! My manager (at the time) did it and he was like "Are you okay?" I was in so much pain I just turned away and told him to leave me alone!

@CaptAlbertWhisker I don't remember if I cried or not. I used to have to get my blood drawn so it might not have made me cry.

I think stepping on Lego bricks is pretty bad. However stepping on a squased frog in bare feet was possibly worse. I had no idea Lego made a slipper like that. They were on sale three years ago and solfd by a French company ccalled "Brand Station."

Stubbing my toe

The pain of stubbing your toe can last a little longer than stepping on a lego, that's for sure! Especially if you are like me and stub it pretty hard.
