Rosemary & Parsley from Neighbor

Got a call from my sweet neighbor. She is writing her book. And she forgot how to save her work. I had to go over and show her how to save, how to use the printer, a few more things as well this morning. As I was leaving we walked through her beautiful garden. She had parsley and rosemary growing and needs to bring it indoors because we are expecting our first frost soon. She pinched off some of both for me. Told me to keep it in a ziploc bag in the frig until I need it. It smells delightful. Enjoyed the visit and I was able to help her continue with her book.

do ya mind askin' yer sweet neighbor how she manages to keep that danged rosemary 'live'n the house? mine 'tis'n the sunporch 'n most oft does jest fine winterin' there. this year? nope, 'tis dyin' 'n all 'ttempts to prevent's proved futile. wonderful she shared such gifts with ya! i do love my fresh herbs, ne'er can grow 'nough parsley 'twixt myself 'n the spring/early summer caterpillars, lol. i know she truly 'ppreciates all 'f yer help'n the company, too.

She grows them outside in a pot until the winter, then she brings them indoors in the same pot of soil. That is all I know. We always enjoy the visits.

@CarolDM yepperz, that's what i do 'n usually they thrive. not this autumn though. i swear i've somehow contracted a black thumb!

You have to be careful not to use too much. It can be overpowering.

I love fresh rosemary and sage! Those sage leaves look different from the type I used to grow. Mine had oval-shaped leaves.
