In celebration of "Rocktober" here's a little Halloween countdown with songs which reflect a "spooky/creepy" theme in the tune's title. See how many of the "13" trivia songs you know.
Can you guess the correct songs and artists? Here are your next "Rocktober" Halloween tunes. These songs have titles about a being who is the "supreme spirit of evil."
And to lead us into this place of terror is the Rock group "Meatloaf" with one of their classic tunes from 1977. If your a Meatloaf fan this song sets up the perfect clue for these mystery songs...
Whodunnit- Do you know these songs and artists?
1. This 1968 song is about the dark side of man, not a celebration of Satanism. But the tune did perpetuate this band's bad boy image, and it was great marketing for the group, who got some press by implying an interest in the occult. Throughout the song's lyrics the singer continues to ask the listener "if ya can you guess my name." This song took on a darker meaning when the band played it at their Altamont Speedway concert just before a fan was fatally stabbed by Hells Angel's gang members. These rockers were at the forefront of the British Invasion of bands into the United States during the 60's.
2. This pop artist had a string of hits in the early 60's. This song reached #11 on the Billboard charts in 1961. The artist later recorded much bigger hits, reaching #1 with "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" and "Laughter In the Rain," a tune which revived his career. Elton John helped make this latter song an American hit, releasing it as a single on his Rocket Records. The title of this song uses a well-known phrase of annoyance, directed at someone who has behaved badly. The phrase is often applied to children, but in this song its used to describe a girl whose a mischief maker, a girl the singer has his desires set on.
Ok, time to conjure up your own "other worldly" powers and solve this trivia quiz . Remember part of the song name has a Halloween reference . If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. I might be able to conjure up a "little witchcraft" if you need another clue.
As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!!
