When 43F Feels like 35F

Cold and rainy day here today. The temperature is 43F with a slight rain falling and lots of wind. The northern winds makes it feel like 35F. That is cold. Tonight it will be in the 20 F. I have my winter socks on and a flannel shirt over another shirt.
My Grandmother was big on all of us kids layering our clothes when it got cold. The more layers, the more insulation she would always say. And we had to keep our heads covered. She said that is where our heat came from.
I have read articles that said on cold days, you'll lose a reported 10 percent of your heat from your head, so it's important to keep it covered. I believe that. And of course my Grandmother was always right!
The warmer you are, the less chance of getting sick. A wise lady she was. I miss her every day. What a difference she made in my life. Losing my Mom at 14, she was my rock.
Stay warm for those with cold weather. For those in places like California, enjoy the sunshine.
Sharing a photo from a few years ago. After an ice storm, I snapped this photo of my butterfly deck clock.

It's Friday and 40 degrees. Snow forecast for the next 3 days; but it probably won't stick. We're about two miles from the warm Lake Erie. You definitely lose heat through your head. That's why you see old pictures with guys with nightcaps on at night. Have a great day.

We have wind with the colder temps today. The rain does seem to be gone at least.

Your grandmother sounded like my mother when I was growing up.
