"Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is an American teen comedy that was released in 1986. It's another hit for John Hughes who wrote, co-produced and directed this movie. "Bueller" was one of the top grossing films for the year. The budget was $5.8 million; and the film grossed $70.1 million. Among the many films that Hughes has written the screenplay for are "Home Alone", "Mr. Mom" and "Sixteen Candles".

Mia Sara - Sloane Peterson

The scene is early morning in suburban Chicago. High school senior, Ferris Bueller, has decided that it is much too beautiful a day to waste by going to school; so he decides to play sick. After the typical parental concern is expressed, Ferris's parents leave for work. Ferris calls up his friend, Cameron Frye, who is legitimately sick in bed and tells him to come and pick him up! Frye's having none of it but finally realizes that Ferris will badger him until he finally gives in.
Mrs. Bueller calls in late to report Ferris off sick. She apologizes that she didn't call in sooner. Mr. Rooney informs her that Ferris has been absent "nine times". As they are talking Ferris hacks into the school computer and changes his absent days.
The next obstacle to overcome is how to get Sloane Peterson, Ferris's girlfriend, out of school for the day. Ferris persuades Cameron to get on the phone and pretend to be Sloane's father. Cameron lets Mr. Rooney know that Sloane's grandmother has passed away. Rooney is convinced that it's Ferris on the phone; so there is some chaos going on in the office as Ferris calls in on the other line. Rooney still feels something fishy is going on and is determined to catch Ferris in the act.
There are so many funny scenes in this movie. One passing thought: How did the trio see that many sights and attend a baseball game in the confines of the hours of a school day?...or maybe it was done that way on purpose to be funny? Be sure you watch the movie into the credits because the story continues. This is definitely a movie that I would recommend seeing at least once.
The movie is rated PG-13.

My friend gave me a copy of this movie. It was a VHS tape and the quality wasn't great, but I enjoyed the movie.
