Is Sunday a "sports" day in your country?

I decided against going to a concert today ($30 for a Johnny Cash tribute band--I'm not into Johnny Cash, though I have to play some of his songs in certain bands). Instead, I bought some tequila and Gatorade, watched the Oakland Raiders football (Amarican) game, and did some cycling. On Fall and Winter Sundays in America, many people "chill" and watch football (American). Parties are thrown. BBQs are lit. Alcoholic beverages are consumed. In Sunday a "sports day" where you live?

@amitkokiladitya What do you do on a "regular" Sunday? Today, I watched Ameican football, cycled, spoke with friends on the phone, and ordered Japanese dinner to go. I did not shower or go to any "formal" engagements.

In the olden days when I was still an avid horse racing fan, I would go to the racetrack after lunch. But that was a long time ago when the racetracks are situated in the city.

It may be, but I don’t participate. It’s hot stove/baseball awards season and hockey season for me. So myLot didn’t help you make $30.25 today? Wow.

@TheHorse -- mulberry metallic. That's what my Porsche's* color is. (*To prevent envy and thievery I cleverly disguised my Porsche as a Honda.)

@DianneN I can't bring myself to watch. I really don't care. Don't tell anyone that I'm glad New England was "dusted" last night.

Not exactly, except when there is a big cricket tournament or at times during Olympics. But on certain cricket match days, Bars and Restaurants are quite buzzing.

I LOVE Johnny Cash music, not all his songs, but most of them. Some men enjoying watching European football on Sunday, but here in Switzerland it's not a big thing.

@TheHorse There are several European countries where they are not at all fanatical about sports, Greece, Austria, the Nordic countries, Belgium.

I am glad I am on my own and no one is yelling go, team. Back in Latvia both Saturday and Sunday were the day's everyone was cheering for their favorite hockey teams, Either watching on TV or going to the arenas,

Hockey, I tried playing hockey when I moved as a child from California to Illinois. My wrist shots were good, but my skating "sucked."

Church and football. Sounds like an American combination. Did Jesus smile upon your teams?
