A random sunset photo from Montana 2019

I was on the final leg on my trip to Montana this past Summer. I was on a plain, where an isolated gas station sits, between Judith Gap and Lewistown, near the Big Snowy Mountains, when I noticed the sun was setting. The scenery wasn't beautiful there, but I liked the way the sunset seemed to light up the whole prairie. So I stopped at "Eddie's Corner," as it's called, bought some gas and beer, snapped the photo, and then moved on.

It was a really nice sunset. I tried to find a more pristine place from which to take the picture. But could not.

Somehow sunsets do not disappoint. The sunset glow can make the uninteresting rather beautiful . . . amazing what nature can do! Out here, even the smog can add something quite beautiful during sunset

Montana certainly has plenty of wide open spaces. I remember meeting a man from Montana who was telling me he'd been to Minnesota (where I was then living) but was glad to get back because MN was far too crowded. Good thing he hasn't been over here!

@JudyEv It is. I drive North for about two hours on a two lane highway from Big Timber Montana to this spot. Then I take a right turn at Eddie's Corner, and that means I'm "almost there." The cabin is my spiritual home, along with Glacier Park, also in Montana.

It has a special meaning for me, because "Eddie's Corner" has always meant, "We're almost at the cabin!"

In daylight, those are grass and wheat fields. It was August, so only a hint of Fall was in the air.

Thanks, Linda. The foregorund make it hard for me to "compose" a beautiful photograph. But is what it is: the view out toward Great Falls MT from "Eddie's Corner" at sunset.
