The capital of Western Australia is Perth and it won’t be long before the Perth Festival is in full swing. There is a huge number of interesting events on offer but most are not cheap. We’re not fond of battling crowds of people in big cities so we probably won’t be attending.
However, I thought of myLotter, Four Walls (@FourWalls), when I read that the grand finale will be a free event entitled ‘Highway to Hell’. Ten kilometres of Canning Highway will become the world’s longest stage for a day in a tribute to Bon Scott. Four Walls recently wrote about Highway to Hell in her ‘Hit the Highway Top Ten’ series. You can catch up here: https://www.mylot.com/post/3318505/hit-the-highway-top-ten-highway-to-hell-10
Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott was born in Scotland on 9 July 1946 but moved to Australia at the age of six, eventually settling Fremantle, West Australia. He became lead singer of AC/DC in 1974. The band, and Scott, received a number of awards over the years Scott died in London on 9 February 1980, after a night out.
Although we’ve been to Fremantle numerous times, I don’t have a photo fo the sculpture that has been erected in Bon Scott’s honour. This was taken by Greg O'Beirne and was downloaded from Wikimedia.

@crazyhorseladycx Very sad indeed. As a young nation, we seemed to need verification from 'older' countries before we'd acknowledge someone as talented or whatever. We're not quite so bad now.

I'm sure it will be great. Normally our weather can be relied on to be good at this time of year.
