Do you tell your friends and relations about MyLot?

For me, MyLot is my own little world. I sometimes kvetch here about band mates, Horse Jr.'s mom, teachers I work with, and even my friends and relations. I wouldn't want anybody in my "real world" to know about MyLot. I try to avoid using names (my brother's name, for example) that would lead to him finding one of my pieces via a Google search. Scott (our rock band leader who sometimes pays us) would be mortified if he read some of what I've written about his antics. Mark (the Country Diva who gets mad at me when I'm funny during gigs) would too. So I consider MyLot to be my own Tralfamadore, a mystical Vonnegut planet that most earthlings don't know about. I always felt "dirty" when I wrote on Bubblews, so I didn't share that with friends and relations either. When I wrote for Epinions, a product review site, I DID share my writings with friends and relations. Do you let your "real world" humans know about MyLot?

My husband knows, but he never checks what I write, he even know my username, he was the one to suggest LadyDuck years ago when I joined Squidoo. myLot is my world, no one else knows.

I don't tell friends or family about this place. They are on my FB so they see what I post there. There is my place where I just come and chat. I have no problem if they found me here or read what I wrote but I just don't volunteer the information.

The only friends I talk to about myLot are my myLot friends

. I like being able to step out of the real world to chat with folks regarding the real world ... and it doesn't hurt anyone as they will never hear about it. Our own little secret society here

I have no one to tell. My friends here know what sites I write on and also my online friends but they all have their own stuff going on so no one questions me about anything,

I wrote for Bubblews and Epinions too, among others. I tell my husband some interesting things about some MyLot members; but I certainly don't tell him about what I write about him. This is a place that I can vent in confidence!

I hope MyLot is safe from the "real world." I might tell a friend, I learned so-and-so from a writing site I'm on, but that would be it.

I don't really tell anyone except sometimes I want to share stuff I've learnt here. In that case, I usually say it's a bit like a FB site. I don't normally put names, except for Vince and Damian's. The latter is easily found anyway as he is on a lot of sites.

@florelway I just had a terrible thought. What if an evil MyLotter, someone good at research, gathered all of the things we say here (about friends, colleagues, and relations) and threatened to contact them if we don't give up our fortunes that we've all made from Barrister Mbalo in Nigeria?
