but you could say it glowed because it did. I drove every day down to Northern Virginia. It used up a lot of gas and we were looking for a cheap car that would be able to commute, save us some money and well have a car. We ended up going to the Smart Car dealership. They had a floor demo that they were willing to sell for a lot off. The thing the salesperson said was "the car glows in the dark." we didn't believe him, but he showed us. The car glowed in the dark! I have owned many interesting cars over the years. But this is the only car my wife and I have ever owned that glowed in the dark! Would you drive a car that glows in the dark?

A very good idea to have a luminous car! Does it come in black? Being a 'Smart' car, I suppose that it is self-grooming and never needs cleaning. Does the passenger have to pedal as well?

@DocAndersen Glad you appreciated my humour! Some might have taken offence (or built a wall) We see quite a lot of Smart Cars here in the UK. I'm always fascinated by them but I've never driven one. They seem to me to be the ideal commuter vehicle. Many years ago (in the 60's) there was a bit of a fad here in the UK for what were called 'bubble cars' - basically three-wheeled covered motorcycles. The Heinkel Kabine and the Messerschmit were the ones we used to see most often. The Smart Car is a step up from that, of course, but still with the same ideas of space-saving and economy in mind. Really, it should be an electric vehicle and I believe that some models are. Is yours gasoline or electric?

@owlwings I remember those three wheeled cars of the sixties. There was one in Italy, I think it was called "Isetta" and it looked identical to the one I see in your link.

I would not drive these small dangerous cars! Never heard of one glowing in the dark. Would be easy to find in the parking lot!

@DocAndersen I do not know if this would have been accepted even for a promotional vehicle, surely if it only circulated in a private area, not on the public roads.

owW I didn't even think about legality, it was legal in the us only because it a promotional car not a standard car.

@LadyDuck it really wasn't bright enough to violate most rules (LED lights are allowed in most places and it was about that bright).

It would be easy to find; but I wouldn't feel comfortable driving such a small car.

@DocAndersen Maybe it's a good experiment, because then the vehicles would be more noticeable during the night.

I guess I would. I think these are marvellous cars. I've seen them in Italy parked end-on to the kerb where no other car could possibly fit.
