did a secret portal open that unleashed numerous accounts flooding mylot?
our admin is going to be very busy deleting discussions, responses and comments and accounts.
so far i've seen plagiarized articles, non-english posts, posts lacking content, polls, advertising links, quotes, soliciting followers...
i've reported as much as i can, but i hope fellow mylotters will also help to keep mylot spam-free and troll-free.

you can change your account settings to "Only those I follow can message me."
if your account setting is "Anyone can message me, except for those I've blocked" then any new member that signs up can immediately spam you.

Ive seen one plagiarized post and I saw your name under it. I reported it of course. And those follow me I follow you. I spoke too soon this morning when I told JJ I haven't encountered one coz when I opened my Mylot this afternoon, an Indian person responded under my comment to follow her.
I'm blaming it to the mercury retrograde!

@hereandthere Those are the users who are in here for the quick money scheme and thought they might get that from Mylot. These are the same users I report on WA as well, usually from India.

@toniganzon mylot might have similarities to fb, twitter, instagram, etc, but mylot is more than that and the concept was born way before social media was invented

there are several who went through one discussion and copy-pasted that "follow me/follow you" comment on each and every one of the responses. sheesh! you can tell they're not really paying attention and treat all sites the same.

Oh my! I haven't been here consistently . . . I missed this whole flooding of unwanteds! I don't know what ultimately happened with this particular situation, but I know myLot takes care of this stuff pretty well - whether it's admin or the people here

@hereandthere Yes. But I think they did nothing else other than this stupid follow me comments and PM. Maybe they had a misunderstanding that more followers means more earnings here.

they're gone for now. but it happens now and then. just flag them if they respond or comment with "follow me and i'll follow you" or forward to admin if they send private messages

no, i don't receive spam message through PM here because my settings is set to only those i follow can message me.
however, i have seen them going through discussions and copy/pasting "follow me and i'll follow you back" on all the responses and comments. i have flagged all that i saw.

I have not run across any such posts yet but I have had more and more people following me without bios and following more than they are being followed and I am not following any of them, Glad you are keeping up with the situation,
