National Pickle Day
National Family PJ Day
1770 - James Bruce discovers what he believes to be the source of the Nile.
1851 - Moby Dick is published in the United States.
1928 - McLean Stevenson was born. He was an American actor, screenwriter and comedian. He is best known for his role as Lt. Colonel Henry Blake in the television series M*A*S*H. He received a Golden Globe for his performance.
1948 - Charles, Prince of Wales was born. He is the heir apparent to the British throne. Queen Elizabeth II is now 93; and I have not heard anything to suggest that she is ready to step down. Prince Charles is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history. He has been the Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay since 1952. He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958.
