1855 - David Livingstone becomes the first European to see Victoria Falls
1973 - United States President Richard Nixon signs the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Authorization Act into law, authorizing the construction of the Alaska Pipeline.
1960 - Clark Gable passed away. Born in 1901, American actor Clark Gable was known as the "King of Hollywood". Born and raised in Ohio his family moved to Hollywood. Gable had roles in silent films from 1924-1926. Then he had supporting roles for MGM. His role in Red Dust opposite Jean Harlow made him MGM's biggest male star. He received an Academy Award for It Happened One Night in which he co-starred with Claudette Colbert. Some of his other movies: *Gone with the Wind* co-starring with Vivien Leigh (see above)(trailer-see below), Mutiny on the Bounty, Boom Town and Misfits. Gable appeared on the Quigley Publishing's annual Top Ten Money Making Stars Poll 16 times. He was named the 7th-greatest male star of classic American cinema by the American Film Institute.

The whole world should be more tolerant. Then maybe we wouldn't have the problems that we do! I'm sure you are just fine!
