Red Bull does NOT give you wings

United States

Of course, we all knew that, didn't we? Red Bull was required to pay out $14 million dollars a few years back because customers said their claims were unfounded. No, no one really believed that the energy drink made you sprout wings. Their qualm was over the fact that the brand also suggested the beverage would help support energy and concentration. The settlement was paid out via $10 checks to consumers or $15 in redbull vouchers. Source: Google / Business Insider (reworded by me)

I have always wondered if an energy drink like Red Bull was the real deal or a phony.

Ah no, they are nothing more than more sugar and caffeine. Oh and bull semen.

@Deepizzaguy I have to be careful with my sugars as well. I don't know if I am borederline diabetic or not, but I do know that I have lots of family that are diabetic. One relative who won't take any medicine for it, and it stresses me out that he doesn't take medicine and doesn't eat as healthy as he should

@ScribbledAdNauseum I would avoid it since it has sugar which is bad for my borderline diabetic condition.

Yeah, they are definitely not good. I don't drink them unless a friend has a can. So, honestly, maybe once or twice a year, and only half a can at that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I never had them and never will. I really don’t have a use for them

@Tina30219 I used to work with this teenager that drank them all the time. Several of us told him that he had to stop, that he was going to kill himself. He just laughed. I honestly hope he's okay today.

Yes, energy drinks can be really harmful. They can cause heart problems and I think even problems with the kidney's (though I could be wrong about that).

There are so many claims in on consumers now. I'm afraid of owning a business that may take off. Some of the claims are so ridiculous but they are made in hopes of settlements so not to prolong or go to trial.

Right? People will try anything for the opportunity to get a load of money.

Their commercials are cute. I may have had one once, I know I've had a monster energy drink before though.

Same here. I don't buy energy drinks anyway, but $10.00 is better than $15.00 going back into the pockets of the company.

Red Bull helps me not fall asleep lol . I can be extremely tired but it won’t let me sleep. I haven’t had one in about 2 years. I know that it’s bad for you.
