I now have a Working With Children card

The photo is of four of the scenes that were used to create a calendar for the endurance riders’ association. Befunky has cropped the photos a little.
Vince recently took photos at a HorsePower dressage day. This used to be called ‘Riding for the Disabled’ but has now changed its name. Before we could take photos, Vince needed a Working with Children’ (WWC) card. He also had to ask permission from the riders before taking their photos. As I am now taking photos too, it seemed to make sense for me to have the same card and it has now been mailed to me. The photo isn’t quite as bad as my passport photo.
Rather than show the WWC card, I’ve put a composite photo of endurance riders.

Is it easy to acquire the card? D you need a lot of requirements to comply before getting one?

@JudyEv Oh so only an ID is needed to get one. That's pretty easy. My country usually has a lot of requirements in getting something. We usually have to secure our own police clearance and in order to get a police clearance we need a barangay clearance (a barangay is a place where we reside). Oh and most of the time they also require a community tax certificate. All those in addition to our ID which must be government issued. We don't have a citizen ID.

@toniganzon I'd forgotten that we had to provide '100 points' which means a passport, driving licence, pension card, electricity/gas bills. Each item carries a different number of points. A passport and driving licence is enough for 100 points.

The card is really a police clearance to say it's okay for me to be around children. It is meant to try to safeguard children from abuse but of course it doesn't stop all abuse. Anyone working with children in clubs, schools, sporting areas must now have these cards.

Why did Vince need a WWC card to take photos?

@JudyEv I work with children. I had to have a fingerprint background check at the federal level.
