Olives

Do you like olives? It seems to me that olives are something that some people love and others hate. There is usually not a middle ground.
When I was a child, I hated olives. Then I learned to like black olives. Now I like green olives best. I like to eat them just by themselves, chopped up in cream cheese or melted cheese sandwich, on pizza or in a salad.
One of my relatives at 3 years old discovered she loved black olives and ate all of them off of the Christmas dinner table! Fortunately the hostess had a big jar and even gave her another jar to take home.

Funny you should say that about black olives my niece that is about 12 when she was little when she would come spend the night with me I always had some black olives for her funny thing is her mom don’t like them so she only got them when she was with me. I like both black and green . There is a green olive we like that is stuffed with garlic it is so good.

That's funny! I took green olives to the little princess today. She ate six, plus one of her little sister's (little sister didn't like them).

@petatonicsca The Sicilian sweet olives with their hot peppers are really good. I buy when I go grocery shopping in Italy, they are a bit expensive.

I love green olives. The black ones I prefer in tapenade. I was in Greece with work 1.5 weeks ago, came back with 5 jars of tapenade and 4 vacuum packed bags of olives. Two of them were for my mother, but now I have olives at least til Christmas.

Oh now I had forgotten, but a good combination we can buy here is olive oil in which are black olives and cubes of feta cheese.

We had lot of olives and feta cheese in Greece. We also had some very nice grilled cheese that I didn't try last time.

I am wild about green olives stuffed with pimento, but after a kidney stone and bp that's a little high, no more salty olives for me.

I love olives on pizza but not by themselves. I find them rather salty. I do use olive oil in a lot of my recipes and I use margarine made with olive oil. It is healthier than canola or vegetable oil.
