No Shame in it

I have suffered from depression and anxiety most of my life. It caused some problems in my past relationships too. Now I have been diagnosed with severe depression with panic attacks. Yes, I have also been stereotyped as near psycho. Depression is tough any way you look at it. Well, now I read that many celebrities have this same problem. Kristen Bell has been a favorite of mine for years. Ever since I watched her in a comedy back in the '90s. She's so cute, spunky, and bubbly. She has a problem with depression and anxiety, takes medication for it. But, she also has checks in place that she uses to see if she is getting really bad. She does a checklist of the good and bad things in her life. This shows her if there is a reason for concern or not. This time of year is very bad for stress and depression. Some people get so bad that they end it all. So I am reaching out to each and every one of you that have issues with anxiety and depression. Take care of yourself and love yourself. Get your rest and eat good food. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to seek the professional help of a counselor to lead you to the correct medication. I was one that swore I would never go on medication nor put my daughter on any. It came to a point where I had to and I am happy that I did make that decision. There is no shame in taking care of yourself and doing what needs to be done for your better wellbeing. Happy Holidays!

You are right, my husband suffers of depression and I know that the Christmas Holidays is not the best time of the year for him. Good advice to seek the professional help.

It's nice when others understand how we feel but it is also sad that they have to go through that to since we know how horrible it feels.

I am currently on anti-depressants, due to some mild depression. It was causing problems with my kids and my husband. So I finally went to get help. I'm glad I did, because things are better. Not perfect, but better. Something I should have done a long time ago, but at least I'm doing it now. There is no shame in depression, anxiety and such. We should talk about all of this more.

I agree. I was reluctant to seek help but found out that I had an imbalance in my brain chemistry. I'm now on meds and feel fine.
