Cardinals at the Deck Feeder

Was up early today. Brendel was calling out meow sounds at 3:am. Very odd for her. Was very scary to hear her at the other end of the house making sounds I had never heard before. The Dude was asleep beside me. We both got up to check on her. She was in her bed, awake but seemed ok. Maybe a bad dream. Who knows. They are both asleep now, of course. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I stayed up and drank some more broth. Then laid back down until daylight. Got up and situated the camera at the patio doors, getting ready for the morning birds. And they showed up. Got several photos. And the cardinals visited. I snapped a photo of the male above. It was a little dark but there he is. Hope to get more later. Such pretty birds. Back to my crackers and sprite. Have a good day everyone.

Sorry you aren’t well, yet. I hope Brendel will be okay. That’s very odd. Male cardinals add so much beautiful color to the garden. Beautiful shot!

It was very different. Brendel has COPD and chronic bronchitis. I keep a close watch on her.

@shaggin Yes, when I adopted her I was told by the vet she was probably exposed to maybe smoke, who knows!

lovely shot 'f mr. cardinal :) i sure do miss all the brightly colored birds from back'n the hills. 've 'd some interestin' ones hangin' 'round here though lately. 'regulars' 't seems durin' this time 'f year. i say such coz i've noticed 'em fer the past 4-5 years. how sad she'd troubles to cause such'n the wee hours 'f the morn.
