A younger Prince Charles

In the responses to my discussion about Queen Elizabeth’s tour of Australia in 1954. John Roberts (@JohnRoberts) mentioned that he had seen Prince Charles quite close up in Beverley Hills.
Between 1973 and 1980, Vince worked at the Esperance Port Authority on the south coast of Western Australia.
During our time there, Prince Charles visited the port to inspect the facilities. Vince was chosen as a driver for one of the fleet of cars which took the Prince and his entourage around the town and to his engagements.
Esperance is quite isolated and a good six hour drive from the capital, Perth, so the Prince travelled by air. From the Esperance airport, six or eight cars took the entourage to the town. Vince has said that the car cavalade travelled very fast and he was continually being told to 'keep up'. He thought they were much too close for safety but those were the orders.
You can see the Prince standing on the upper deck of the tugboat. Vince was able to stand on the pier and snapped the prince as he came up the steps. He spoke to the crowd before carrying on with his inspection. I wonder if the little girl on the tugboat remembers the occasion?

@JudyEv Don't worry, our spy satellites can get even closer pictures than the ones Vince got. So even though security is tighter these days, we have no problems taking close-up photos! haha

I read the other day that an American country music artist was scolded because she high-fived prince Harry when she met him. She broke royal protocol. Do you think Harry really cared?

@JudyEv I would think that the royals get tired of acting royal all the time. They need some time to let loose and be normal people just like the rest of us. In my opinion, that doesn't make them any less royal. If anything, it makes me think more fondly of them.

@moffittjc That's for sure - and William and Harry seem very much like that.

Thanks. It's obvious by the Prince's appearance that it was a long time ago.

@crazyhorseladycx They certainly seem to be very community/environment oriented.

Hi Judy, I have a little crush on one of his boys. Not the older, responsible one... the redhead - the troublemaker. I don’t know, I can’t think of either one of their names right now but you know which one I mean.

I find the current British royals as handsome when they are young.

That boy looks like trouble with a Capital T

That's really unkind, isn't it, but I couldn't resist.
