My birthstone is Amethyst, a stone that I do not like at all. I do not think that it is important to have one, I do not want an amethyst.

@resukill22 I personally don't find it important but it's ok if it's important to others when it comes to birthstones. Mine is Amethyst which is cool because purple is my favourite colour.

I didn't know my birthstone was blue sapphire. In the Middle Ages the gem was believed to protect those close to you from harm and also represented loyalty and trust. Some good qualities for sure!

Good morning. My October color is certainly tourmaline but my birthstone is opal. Unfortunately rings with these seem to be rare so I still do not have one. Anyway my birthday is passed and I am getting too old to worry about getting one now.

Oh I see, that's why I don't see opal on the birthstone. How old are you now? If you don't mind

@resukill22 I just turned a whopping 65 years old so here, in Canada, I am considered a senior although I don't really feel like one.
