November 29 - What I Am Thankful for Today

For many of us in the US, it's back to work for one day before the weekend while others have a four-day weekend, and still others, like myself, are enjoying retirement. I have a lot to be thankful for every day, as I've shown this month. Today is no exception. This morning I woke late, but still got in the pool by five a.m. and had a good workout for which I'm very thankful after yesterday's feast. I turned on the weather this morning and a smile spread across my face. It was snowing. It was still snowing when I came out of the Y. Though it stopped soon after. We got a nice unexpected dusting. It's melted now. However, if the weather predictions hold true, we'll have another 4-8 inches between Saturday night and Sunday. It won't interfere with the Packers game as it's in New York against the Giants. I am also thankful for my word count. I hoped to hit 80K this month. I did that yesterday with 80,807 before my son picked me up for dinner. I added more to it this afternoon. I now have over 82K. Thread of Life, the current name of the book is coming along fine. I'm starting to put the puzzle together and should see the full picture soon, though I still believe the story will have a minimum of 20K words yet, which is quite low for one of my books. We'll see when all is said and done. I'm thankful for a full tank of gas. I'm thankful half my Christmas cards are in the mail and the other half will be sent out tomorrow. All the cards going overseas are in the mail. I'm thankful my royalty is in the bank today. I should get another good royalty next month and in January too for sales of Thread of Evidence. I'm thankful for food and a full belly. I'm thankful for a good night's sleep, and the nap I had earlier today. I'm thankful for the trip around Lambeau Field last night as my son and his girlfriend played Pokemon Go on the way back to his place for the Thanksgiving meal. I got some great pictures at Lambeau, like the one above of the Vince Lombardi Trophy statue in the window of the stadium.
