"Feliz Navidad" was written in 1970 by Jose Feliciano. It became a #1 hit on the Holiday 100 Billboard chart in the United States. "Feliz Navidad, prospero ano y felicidad" means "Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness". Jose Feliciano (Jose Monserrate Felicino Garcia) was born blind on September 10, 1945 due to congenital glaucoma. He is a Puerto Rican musician, singer, songwriter and composer. "Light My Fire" and "Feliz Navidad" were his two most memorable songs and biggest hits. His style is a mixture of Latin, jazz, blues, soul, rock and easy listening. He plays acoustic guitar as an accompaniment. He first became popular in the 1960s with the release of his album "Feliciano" which ranked #2 on the charts.
