I love to listed to different Christmas carols in other languages and many times I wonder if I like them better in another language because they were "born" so as to say elsewhere. I should check in the web now that we can learn so many things this way. I prefer Silent Night in German, O Holy Night in French and Come all ye faithful in Latin. Do you like some songs in one language and some in another language?

This reminds me of our office Christmas party that our group presented the song Little Drummer Boy but the lyrics are of a Tagalog carol called Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit. It was praised by many in the audience but unfortunately it did not win a prize.

Many languages are learned in other places when songs are written in them.

@marguicha you are right. We learned English songs in grade school and that probably helped in our study of the English language.

@Alexandoy Songs are a good motivation to learn a language, specially when we are young.

I think that all Carols are a lot better in their native language, I only like "Adeste Fideles" in Latin and Silent Night in German.

@marguicha Those carols were designed to have the correct rhymes in their native language, it is not surprising that they sound nicer.

I haven't paid much attention really but I'm sure some fit their original language better.
