From old to new in just 14 hours. The old is gone, and the new is shining, waiting for the silicone to set/cure/whatever so I can enjoy the new tub!!
Attached are the before and after pictures. I now have a walk-in tub, so I don’t have to worry about things like trying to get in and out of the tub with arthritic shoulders any longer.
I know these guys are professionals, and they do this every day, but it’s amazing to watch them destroy parts of my house...then put it back like nothing ever happened! They had to remove the door frame to my bathroom to get the tub in, but you’d never know it to look at it!
Remodeling taught me a couple of things about my house. One, I don’t have fiberglass insulation. Instead, a popular form of insulation at the time the house was built (1950) was heavy boards of compressed material like paper and plant material (you know, what the environmentalists are selling now as “good for the planet” at eight times the price). Two, my walls are plaster, not drywall.
I guess that means the house will be here for a little while longer. Prayerfully, so will I, so I can enjoy the new bathroom!!

I changed my tub this year too, for the same reasons. It was expensive and looks beautiful. But, most important I can now take a shower

Yes, remodeling is expensive, especially when you deal with plumbing. But, as you said, it’s WELL worth it. This has a shower (hand-held) feature, too, which is something I never had with the old tub.
Just 59 more payments and it’s all mine!

@FourWalls I placed all sorts of bars to hold and it is big enough to get a plastic chair to sit and shower or to same someone take off the dirt out of the ol´ lady.

What a beautiful transformation and quickly too. I love your new tub and have been thinking about getting one myself. Enjoy!!
