My mom won a $20 Starbucks gift card.
Instead of using it herself she gave it to me, telling me she doesn't really drink coffee.
I guess she doesn't realize that you can get hot chocolate and tea drinks there as well, not to mention some tasty pastries.
Oh well; better for me.
I don't go to Starbucks that often, so now I have a reason to go.
And if I go alone, without hubby, that card will last me for more than one trip to the cafe; maybe even for more than two.
Sweet!

I think I will visit there without him.
He has expensive taste and the card will be gone in one visit.

@vsai2008 I was at the mall Saturday and thought of using my Starbucks gift card. I got to Starbucks and it was chaotic. Too many people. Super long lines to order and then receive your beverage. Hardly any room to breathe. Decided I wasn't gonna suffer through that so went to Cinnabon for a cinnamon roll and a lemonade.

nice! enjoy whatever you happen to buy :) I don't go there very often because they're expensive and it's not great for you...but I like their Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino and the Pink Drink

I usually get hot chocolate and madeleines there. Sometimes a pastry instead of madeleines if I feel hungrier or they are out of them.

Can the card be used on the next visit if not all spent?

Yes. You use the card as many times as you want until the money runs out.

@lovebuglena that's nice. Most cards are only good for one visit. What's your most favorite item at Starbucks?

@florelway Hot chocolate. And I love their madeleines.

I love Starbucks I go there for a treat for myself but not every day like maybe once a week if not I’ll go long in between visits. I try to go when I already have extra money or a gift card. My mom bought my grounds for there because she all these points added up from my dad using cars reward card.

@lovebuglena that’s what my mom does. I have there like bonus app but that’s about it. My mom gets the reward points and gets things with them. My dad uses the card often almost every day during the work week

I go there less than once a week. Don't remember the last time I went there. Probably months ago. Hubby actually has their rewards card and he accumulates points and then he can get stuff for those points I believe.

I know that. I've tried some of their coffee drinks before but it was more just tasting what hubby got than getting my own.

Wow, I could have used that $20 gift card yesterday. That's about how much I spent for my coffee latte and the two kids' chai tea lattes! Damn you Starbucks for being so expensive!

@lovebuglena Their prices are outrageous. They should be outlawed (the high prices, not Starbucks).

It's crazy how much they charge for "fancy" drinks.

How come aside from the fact that it's not cheap?

@NJChicaa I've gotten coffee there a few times. It wasn't bad. But I usually get hot chocolate there.

That is sweet. How far is the Starbucks from your house?

There is one in a supermarket where I shop. To get there on my own would be about a 23 minute walk to a bus and then taking a bus, which is a fast ride, however, can take a long time to wait for one.

@LindaOHio By car, yes. Public transport perhaps as well, if you live close to the train or bus.
