Sunday....A day for Music and cupcakes...

It's 7:40 AM. It's a cold Sunday morning and the sun is still not out. But since the sky is clear it should come later. I am sitting with my morning tea in front of my laptop and mylotting. The house is quite as everyone else is still cozy and peacefully sleeping in their blanket.
I am done with some cleaning in kitchen and have put one load for washing. Have oiled my hair and am switched on the geyser for warm water. I will take a head bath in some time.
Today I have to go for a fund raising musical event. My younger daughter is performing there and my elder one will be helping us out there. We have sold good amount of tickets and even on spot buying is allowed. So my elder one will be on ticket counter. The event starts at 10:30 and ends at 12:30 followed by a charity lunch. My husband will not be able to join us as he is caught up with some official training. So he will miss the lunch. Anyway he worked till late night and will not wake up early. So the breakfast that I make will become his brunch.
In the afternoon and evening my daughters will be busy baking cupcakes for a charity sale at the same place tomorrow. Tomorrow there is a Christmas play and the same place and it is performed by some differently abled children and youths. We will be there tomorrow evening to see it and encourage them. We will buy tickets for the charity. That too is followed by a charity dinner. Some Christmas carnival and fun games are also a part of it to attract more people. My daughters are energetically participating in the fund raising events and today they plan to bake more than 50 chocolate cupcakes.
So it's a busy day ahead with music and cupcakes.
Now I have to finish few chores, breakfast and getting ready for the event. I will wake up m daughters in some time. Elder one was studying till late night.
We all are getting dressed up in traditional Indian dresses and that will definitely take some time
But we are all excited.

how wonderful to be able to go'n support these various charities, hon. e'en more so those sweet girls 'f yers 're makin' all those cupcakes. how sad yer hubs cannot make the performance.
i bet't does take some time to get 'nto those dresses. i bet all looked jest beautiful.

We do a few charity around this time every year and I have been a part of this for quite some time. My husband could not make it because of his work.
Those cupcakes sold fast.
Wearing a sari in a right way needs some time but then it is worth it.

@arunima25 'tis wonderful that y'all're so 'nvolved'n yer community, hon. i bet they did! no doubt ya ladies looked jest beautiful. i'd a friend from yer country who tried to learn me that sari schtuff. she finally gave'p (i aint very coordinated gettin' 'nto any kind'a dress) 'n tossed me my boots 'n jeans, lol.

Sari is not an easy dress to carry if you are not used to it. It's a beautiful art to drape an unstitched long piece of cloth in a very gracious way.

We had a great time and the event was a big success. Though we were too tired at the end, it was worth the cause. The cupcakes sold very fast. People loved it.

Yes Indian traditional dresses are quite graceful and I wore a pretty saree. Though I wear sari every now and then but my children do not wear traditional dresses unless it is a special occasion. Yesterday they both wore their salwar kameez.
We were very tired by end of the event. So did not bake yesterday. They are doing it now.

@LadyDuck Yes they look grand and bright. The wedding and party wears are a bit on heavier side but the saris and salwar kameez that we wear in regular days are simple, comfortable and quite elegant. Glad you like it. We have a number of traditional dresses depending on the state and the community.

We were tired after a long day and work at event. SO did not bake yesterday. My daughters are doing it now. I have handed over the kitchen to them after making breakfast and dinner. We were full after lunch yesterday and so had only vegetable sandwich in dinner. Today we are looking forward to great charity dinner at the carnival.
