What are you going to do when your bananas are getting brown?

I don´t like to waste food. I have experienced so much hunger when I was a child. Not all through my childhood years though but the time when the tailoring of my father was burned.
My parents were not really so poor and they had plenty of friends but when we were getting into poverty, the friends were gone. Have you experienced that? That hard time influenced my life too much that I can´t waste food.
Today, I have seen that my bananas were getting black. I didn´t like to eat them anymore and so I baked banana sponge cake. I have made this a thousand times and so it was easy. The cake is cooling now. It will be smelling good on Christmas Eve and this might be our dessert.
What do you do then when your bananas are getting black? Bake a cake, make ice cream or freeze them until use?
Thanks for reading. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Yummy! I love banana bread. What other ingredients do you put in your banana bread besides bananas, flour, sugar, eggs and baking powder? Thanks, @LindaOHio.

@thelme55 I honestly don't remember. I can't stand for more than a couple minutes; so I don't cook or bake hardly at all anymore. I think there was baking soda in it.

I am not good in baking and the only means to preserve the over ripening banana is to make it into ice cream. After cutting into thin slices, I would mix with condensed milk, evaporated milk and sugar. Freeze and that's it.

Delicious! What kind of nuts do you put in the banana bread? I usually add hazelnuts and they are yummy. Thanks, @JohnRoberts

I am like you, but I did not grow up poor. But NOTHING goes to waste. Nothing. I do not really eat bananas although my wife does. She rarely lets them get too ripe. But my mom used to make banana bread out of them all the time. If she did not want to make the bread she'd freeze them and make the bread later. But she always used them up.

banana sponge cake sounds very good, I wish I was a better baker. I make ice cream or banana pancakes when mine get old :)

Our bananas never reach that point, they get gobbled up
sometimes it's still a bit unripe and everybody is already excited to eat them , I'm the number one culprit, I can eat several bananas a day and pushed down with a lot of water. My large parrot named Molo also helps in the consumption.
