Ragdoll Kitty Cats

Oh, my! Just what we don’t need right now is another cat. We are still trying to get over the loss of Doodles the cat. However, our son met two Ragdoll kitties while in Boston with his friends over the weekend. They took to him immediately and after he texted me, I told him that it’s better to play with them right now than get two for himself. To sum up some information I discovered: *gentle and affectionate *silky medium length coats *small soft voices *lap cats, enjoy being cradled like babies, and carried around *medium to large *life span of 15+ years *enjoy going for walks on a leash *get along with dogs I’d love two for myself!

Ragdoll cats are beautiful, do not wear black if there is one around.

@DianneN My mother in law had a Persian, so I had the experience.

@LadyDuck I told everyone who came to visit to wear tweed clothing. Now, they can wear whatever they want.

Right! They shed twice a year. We had a Persian cat years ago, so I will wear tweeds.

It sounds like you're going to have a new kitty in your future. The one in the photo is gorgeous.

@just4him They are not related at all. Only the seal point markings are similar if you choose to get a Ragdoll with those markings.

I thought about getting Ragdolls, but decided to get two moggies from the shelter. When they passed it really felt empty and two weeks later I had a new cat, who spent the next two months living under the bed!

We’ve always gotten all but one cat from the shelter and lost all of them. Our last baby passed away on November 12th. As much as we all love cats, we aren’t ready to get any yet. I hope your kitty adjusted after two months! It was probably so scared.

They are my favorite cats. My grandmother had two when I was little and they were the sweetest cats ever. Both wound up with cancer I don't recall how ok they were. I want one but with my boyfriend, niece and nephew being allergic I can't have cats

I never heard about them until yesterday. From what I’ve read, they could get cardiomyopathy, but breeders have been working on getting rid of that. Doodles had that and cancer. I understand why you can’t have cats, I’m not sure if we’re ready for any either, but when and if we are, I would love this kind.

I’m so sorry to hear about Sultan, too. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. I’m devastated over the loss of Doodles. I understand exactly how you feel. No pets for a long time if ever.

@DianneN Buttercup does not get along that good with other cats anymore. Only Blackie does. So we will not be getting anymore cats. Unless it is a female.

Beautiful cats, but I would imagine my allergies would go nuts when they shed their fur. Or maybe my allergies would go nuts all year long with them around. Who knows, but I wouldn't mind having one. Did I mention they're beautiful?
