Diary 17th To 27th December 2019

My final week on the temporary mail sorting job, and all the shifts would be full ones, no reduced hours. Adding the very early starts and getting up at 4.30 am made for a gruelling week.
On Wednesday 18th December I treated myself to a curry meal offered at a local pub, but it was rather disappointing in quality.
On Friday 20th December I got ready for a trip to Manchester for the next day, and enjoyed a phone call to my Mum, letting her know that I was calling in to see her over the weekend.
Saturday 21st December, the night of the Winter Solstice, I finished work and headed home only long enough to pick up the beer and overnight bag for my Manchester trip. This was to a lovely house party with many of my best friends,. I stayed overnight and some other guests kindly gave me a lift to my mum's the next day.
Monday 23rd December - Cinema visit for the disappointing Star Wars - The Rise Of Skywalker (reviewed elsewhere).
Christmas week itself was quiet for me. It felt odd not having to get up before dawn for work, and I went to the libraries, shops and a few bars up to the central bank holiday itself. I opened my presents, some clothes, sweets and gift vouchers and a day alone, watching TV and videos. The only frustration was the lack of transport.
Friday 27th December 2019 - transport back on, I headed to the shops jut to get out and got my last full wage from the post office work, but this will drastically reduce my welfare for December and January, making it barely worth having worked at all.

I'm glad that you had a nice, busy holiday. Sorry your welfare check will be reduced. Any chance of any more work in the near future?

@LindaOHio No immediate prospects but certainly looking - it needs to be something that the welfare reductions won't decimate too much too - they actually end up making it more financially practical not to take some work on which is crazy
