How My Ornaments Went Over at Christmas

If you saw my earlier post you know I created some Christmas ornaments to honour my mother (because she passed away this year) and then to honour both my parents. It was my middle sister's suggestion that I do the one for Mom like I did for Dad the year he died. I decided to go a step further and do the additional parents one.
When I gave my middle sister her's, she gushed politely. She didn't look like she liked the picture I chose but my options were limited. Her husband had sent me what he thought was the best picture but her head was cut off in the photo, cutting around it would be impossible. She thought the one of my parents' wedding picture and updated picture was cute and asked me to hang them on her tree for her.
My older sister, whose daughter took a long time to send me a picture and could only come up with one from her wedding cropping her out, loved the picture that was chosen. She was genuine. The parents' ornament didn't get much of a reaction.
As for my brother, whose picture with Mom is the best, pretty much just laughed. I said that now that we had a Michael's in town you'd think I'd have better access to tools. That was more or less my excuse for what might have been considered poor quality.
So I was underwhelmed by the response. I was disappointed. I know they have no idea how much work went into creating the ornaments. I'm considering sending them a group email telling them all I went through. I am hurt by the response I got. If my mother were alive she would say, "You're being too sensitive." Yes, I am a sensitive person and there is nothing wrong with that. I didn't have to make the ornaments but I did with very limited time.
I had to print each picture several times as I changed the sizing over and over and over again to fit in the circle of the glass I was using as a stencil. The painting issues I had as well having to go buy another packet and start over. I guess I should have used the wooden ornaments but they didn't have enough at the store.
Ah well, my ornament making days are over now anyway.

I am so sorry. Some people are just ungrateful. It was a wonderful idea and I think they are beautiful.

The main thing is that you did what you could with the photos.
As long as you are happy with what you did that´s what counts really.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I saw some wooden ornaments I could have worked with but there were only 3. I asked if there were more and they said no. I was back the next day and there were more on the rack. It wasn't enough to do 8 ornaments and I wasn't prepared to start over.

I think its pretty good too it can be tiring when you want to create something and you can´t tind what you want to be able to do so.

I'm sorry you didn't get the response you were hoping for. it sucks when you put in effort and it's not appreciated. I think they look nice and I like getting handmade gifts, makes the gift more meaningful :)
