Happy New Year's Day and Health Report - Day 51

How's it going on this first day of 2020 and the last year of the second decade of the 21st century?
We've entered into the twenties. The twenty-twenties. When I was a kid in school several centuries ago, I never thought I would see 2000 let alone 2020. Yet, here we are. Why? I thought the world would end before it turned the millennium. We know that didn't happen. Neither did Y2K which everyone thought would crash our computers. Yet people behind the scenes made sure everything transferred as it should into the 21st century.
I've been watching The Mouseketeer Club on Disney + over the past few days. I find it very interesting that they call those kids the leaders of the 21st century. I never noticed that when I watched it when I was younger. It's amazing what you pay attention to as you get older.
Well, here we are and the first day is half over for me and for some of you, it's winding down or over. How did your first day go? Did you do anything differently? Did you stick with your New Year's Resolution or start on your goals for this year?
I erased my whiteboard this morning and put two goals on the board for this year. One, to publish Legacy by April of this year. I'll be working on that book today. Second, to write Vendetta and get it ready to publish for 2021. A few people are already looking for this sequel to Thread of Evidence. It makes me more aware of my plan to get three of the New Horizon's novels finished before I publish the first. That way I won't be pressured to get the second finished before the first has had a chance to breathe. No doubt, those novels will also make it to my whiteboard this year.
Today is a no cooking day. However, I did cook last night one thing I'm already enjoying today. Believe me, I'll be making this again. It's beef stew meat in a bottle of sugar-free hickory-smoked barbecue sauce, a little bit of apple cider vinegar and an onion. That's it. I put that in the crockpot yesterday and let it cook for several hours. The result, my tastebuds are going nuts over the flavor and taste. I didn't add any spices. It didn't need it.
I also have cutie mandarins, strawberries, blueberries, and grapes to munch on today, along with a couple of other healthy sweets. I won't be counting calories today. It's going to be a munching day. Other than the chocolate pancakes this morning from the batter I made yesterday, I won't have any decided meals.
Yesterday was a low food day. Other than first thing in the morning when I was hungry, I wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. I realized I needed to up my sodium as it was severely low, so I finished off the shrimp in the freezer. I made a cocktail sauce for it with tomato sauce, chili pepper, and lime juice. I would have used lemon juice but didn't realize I was out. When finished with the shrimp, I felt like an overstuffed turkey on Thanksgiving. I really wasn't hungry. However, I didn't want leg cramps from low sodium either. It all worked out.
Here are yesterday's numbers.
Calories: 803
Sugar: 45.35
Carbs: 81.5
Protein: 52
Sodium: 607
Fat: 29.7
I did step on the scale this morning. I was surprised I gained weight instead of losing it with how low my numbers have been.
I finished the notifications while I watched the Rose Parade. I'll finish off the few I have and then I'm working on a book before the Rose Bowl game this afternoon between Wisconsin and Oregon. Of course, I'm hoping for a Wisconsin win. I even have a Wisconsin Rose Bowl sweatshirt on from 1994. I think we won that game. Yes, we did. Looking at the shirt, it says Rose Bowl Champions on it.
Okay, now to finish up here and get onto a book. I'm leaning on Legacy since I want to get that one published by April.
Thanks for reading. The image is from the Rose Parade.

Our first day has been laid back and relaxing. There are different games on television, even this morning Jay found a couple good ones. Michigan vs Alabama is on right now. Michigan has the lead, but that could change quickly. He's still in his bath robe and it's almost 3:00P! This is fine with me, we're having a good day together!
Gaining a little weight surprised me, your numbers have been right on track. Tomorrow those scales will drop again:)

@kobesbuddy I talked to the lifeguard about that one day and she told me a pound is a pound. It doesn't matter if it's muscle or fat.
However, I tend to agree with you as you build up muscle when you tone up and exercise. Trading one pound for another.

@just4him NJ Chicaa told me, muscle weighs more than fat tissue. This could be what's happening, with those scale numbers.

I stayed home most of the day. I visited with my nephew for a bit. He is still homebound mostly. I hope that he will be cast free by the end of the month.

New Years day was good, didn't do anything special though. I did start back on my diet though and I got a work out in.
I think your numbers from yesterday look good, even though low.
