Hello everyone! Happy new year 2020 to all mylotters. I hope you will have a successful year.
My better half and I spent our new years eve with my Filipino family in the Netherlands, not far from Amsterdam. It was a wonderful celebration with a lot of food to eat, talking, dancing and singing with karaoke. It was a celebration exclusively with my relatives.
When the new year struck, we were drinking Champagne and went outside to see the fireworks. We were not able to see a single firework but we heard a lot of noise from the fireworks. It was so foggy. I felt as if there was bombing going on like in a war because of plenty of bang, bang, bang from the noise of the fireworks which took for an hour to hear. We went inside the house after 15 minutes as it was too cold.
Going home to Germany in the evening of the first day of the year was horrifying for me. Every now and then I dosed off and saw the fog in front of us. It was so scary as we almost couldn´t see the highway. Thankfully, when we entered the border of Germany, there was no fog. Thankfully, we arrived home safely after 2 hours of driving home.
How about you? How did you spend your new years eve?
I hope that my life will not be foggy the whole year-round. Thanks for reading. Have a blessed year to you all.
The photo was on the way to Amsterdam on the last day of the year.

@thelme55 Most Filipino families are solid. Their family ties are bonding.

@Nakitakona yes, indeed. That is because we are brought up by our parents who taught us how important family is in our lives.

I'm glad you made it home safely. Our New Year's Eve was extremely quiet.

I hope so. I have heard from my friend that there were a lot of accidents happening where she has been in the highway because of the fog. Thankfully, they arrived home safely. Thank you @TiarasOcean View.

Driving in fog can be scary but glad you got home safe. We had some very foggy mornings here too over the holidays.
Can't believe we're already into a brand new year

Thank goodness you arrived safely! Dense fog is awful. So happy you had a lovely New Year’s Eve.
We welcomed in the new year with Chinese food, a wonderful movie, watching the ball drop in Times Square, and seeing the beautiful fireworks on the beach. We saw them from our lanai in our pajamas. When they were over, we went to bed.

Fog can really make a problem for drivers. I hope this year will only bring us nice things.
