Ladies, do you take a cab late at night?

The world we live in can be a terrible place and we all need to be careful especially late at night but our female friends and family need to be doubly so. A recent post by a fellow myLotter reminded me of a good idea I heard about. If you are taking a taxi, especially late at night, take a photo of the driver and/or his ID and send it to a friend. Genuine taxi drivers will understand and won't mind and the dodgy ones will behave themselves if they know they've been positively ID'd. You never know, it could save your life!

It is a good idea. But if it is very late, I don´t call an Uber but call the taxis I have known for 20 years. They are now taking my grandson to parties (he is 16) when his mother cannot go and pick him up.

That's great advice. I don't rely on taxis but if I ever do I will certainly do that.

No I have not.Do you feel safe doing that in SCotland? I mean, I'm sure it's safe, probably better than Uber or Lyft

In Scotland we are relatively safe. It's very unusual to hear of a woman being assaulted by a taxi driver but nowhere is 100% safe and it's a wise precaution wherever you live. We have Uber in Scotland but not Lyft.

One son has several female friends who visit from time to time and take a taxi home. He always takes down the number of the cab and makes sure the driver sees him doing so. Your idea is a good one too.
