My eye report....

If you read my last discussion, I finally got done with my eye check up yesterday. It was due for a long time and I am happy that it is done. That took almost whole of my day yesterday as It was a crowded hospital due to weekend. I could not do anything in later part of the day. My vision was blurred due to dilation and that kept me away from Mylotting too.. As far as the diabetic concerns for the eyes go, I have not diabetic changes in my eye and I am good.. But as I had a strong feeling that I might have some power, it turned out to be right. I have got +1 in both eyes and I need to have glasses for reading and working on computers. Doctor advised to start with progressive glass as that might be good for on screen work. Progressive glass is quite expensive. But I went with the advise of doctor and have given my prescription for glass making. I went for the lightest frame as I know I can not handle weight on my nose. That also added up to expense but only the best and comfortable one for my eyes. My glasses will be ready by Tuesday evening. I got up late and went lazying around in the morning. Well that was the plan for Sunday. Now I am here for some time before I go getting a few things ready for the week ahead. Hope all is well at your end

@Hannihar So you use them at different situations. You can use bifocal instead of using two different glasses for far and reading. Is that right? Sorry I am not an expert and might be wrong.

Well at least you know now what you need and can get the right prescription. I recently got new glasses..I think I see about the same as with my old glasses, although some things that were blurry with the old glasses, I can see now.

Yes. That's what the doc said. Reading glasses are only good for reading but if it's screen work, progressive is better.

It's good that you are not diabetic. That is scary if you have eye issues and it is connected to diabetes.

I am diabetic since last 13 years but gladly I keep it under control. My eyes are quite healthy except for this slight power that I have developed lately. It's quite common to get it once you cross 40. It's related to ageing.

it's part of being diabetic, isn't it, to be vigilant about your eyes. so are you going to wear it for reading and while on the computer only?

I go for regular eye check up being diabetic. Thankfully no diabetic symptoms for my eyes. They are healthy. This power seems to be quite common once you cross 40. I am in mid forty and so it's something common. I have wear it for both reading and working on laptop.
