The Wizard of Oz has become a yearly TV event for some time now. When the film premiered in theatres in 1939, it was considered a box-office failure, costing more to make than the proceeds it took in. In 1956, CBS gained the rights to "Oz" reintroducing the film to TV audiences and it was an instant success. The Wizard of Oz has become the most seen movie in history according to the Library of Congress. Due to its wholesome story, innovative color film technology, and wonderful characters, the movie gained a second life after being shown on television. This popularity has since continued to delight viewers for generations. Now it's your turn to delight me and other readers of this post. Come on, think... What's your favorite scene from the Wizard of Oz? One of my favorites was when Dorothy (Judy Garland) throws the bucket of water trying to put the fire out for the scarecrow. When it instead douses the Wicked Witch she utters those classic lines..."Now look what you've done." Followed by "I'm Melting, I'm Melting, Oh What a World." A terrific scene, good triumphs over evil! So what's your favorite? Sources- Good Housekeeping & Wikipedia Photo-

Remember the scene when the scarecrow says to the apple trees... come on Dorothy you don't want any of those apples. And the trees start throwing them... That was a good one!

Ohhhh - that used to be my favorite scene too . . . but long it ago it was such a long wait to get to that part . I also love it when Dorothy steps out of the black and white house to see the world in color . . .
This is the famous scene in which Dorothy walks out her front door into Oz and for the first time sees the world in Technicolor. I am uploading this because ...

I quote that scene often, I'm Melting, I'm Melting. Especially in summer. My favorite scene - hard to choose, they're all good. When Dorothy arrives in Oz and the Lumberjack Boys song.

@dgobucks226 Thanks for the clip. It's one of my many favorite scenes. Another favorite would be when the lion jumps through the window after seeing the Wizard the first time.

In my case it would be I'm freezing, I'm freezing That is a good scene. The welcome to Munchkins to Oz was a good scene. Another I liked, because it made me worry for them was as they were approaching the Emerald City the witch made the poppies put them to sleep. Fortunately the Good Witch made it snow to rescue them...
Through a song, Dorothy is welcomed by the Munchkins, as well as the Lullaby League and Lollipop Guild. From the Warner Bros. film - "The Wizard Of Oz"

@dgobucks226 That all aside, I used to watch it every year, but now it's been years since I have seen it. Maybe this year when it runs, I believe, during the holiday season.

Yes, very good one! And speaking of those slippers, the scene where the Wicked Witch tries to remove the ruby slippers and gets a shock from them.

Yes, the Lollipop Guild great scene. Another I liked was the scene where they meet the Wizard and the Cowardly Lion gets so scared he runs away and jumps threw the glass window. Also when Dorothy slaps him on the nose when he tries to bite Toto when they first meet.
