January 17 - What I'm Thankful for Today

I might not have been able to leave the apartment today due to a flat tire, but that doesn't mean there isn't something to be thankful about.
I'm thankful I have the money in the bank for a used tire. I tried to get to the donut, but the trunk is frozen. I finally got the carpet lifted, with help from a couple of the maintenance women, so I could get at it only to find the cardboard cover bolted down and frozen to the trunk. Gotta love these negative temps. The soonest I can get anything taken care of for the car will be Monday. We're getting snow. I just looked at the forecast map and the storm is on the outer edge of Brown County where Green Bay is located.
I'm thankful that though I couldn't go anywhere, I found a way to get my steps in and am currently a few hundred away from 5000. I will have them tonight.
I'm thankful I kept my calorie count reasonable while getting the sodium I need.
I'm thankful for the work I accomplished on Legacy. I'm plugging holes as I edit and upping my word count at the same time. It's coming along very well.
I'm thankful I finished the notifications early and could get as much done on Legacy as I did while trying to get to the donut. At the moment all's right with my world. And with the snow about to start in Green Bay, I'm a very happy person.
It's time for me to get off the computer for the day and relax with the television. I hope you all had a wonderful day too. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. What it will soon look like outside. The picture is from two years ago.

True. However, they are the number one seed and we're number two, so we go there. @TheHorse is counting on Rodgers cold weather playing to hinder his ability on California soil and their balmy January weather. Rodgers was born in California, so he's prepared and will give them a run for their money. It will be a great game. I'll be glued to the TV.

An interesting note: Two of the San Francisco Giants' announcers are Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper. They are fixtures here in the Bay Area. I heard Kuiper interviewed the other day on KNBR (the main sports station here) and he talked about how he's going to be "in trouble" with his family back home this weekend. He's from Wisconsin! And I believe Rodgers went to Cal, so he'll be quite familiar with the weather here.

@just4him Kuiper make an interesting point in the interview I mentioned in my other comment. This is one of those games he said he might watch alone. When you're "partying"with friends, there are distractions. But when you watch a game alone, you can focus in on all of the "nuances." My friend Tim will probably invite me over to his house for the game. But I'll probably choose to watch it at home alone, perhaps while MyLotting. It should be a great game.

You let a little bit of that white stuff escape. It is on the ground here.

Valerie, you may know this, but I went to my college reunion in Iowa this past Summer. Your snow pictures remind me of Iowa in Winter. Here's a picture of one of my favorite buildings on my college's campus. It's called Herrick Chapel. Of course, this was in Spring/Summer, but the houses in Iowa are similar to those in Wisconsin. That's a part of why your snow pictures resonate with me so much.

Nice stuff to be thankful for. So glad you got that flat tire fixed. I'm thankful that I didn't have to go to the gym today--too cold to walk. And I'm glad I have my friends here on Mylot to keep me company during this crazy weather.
