Taking the truck in for repairs.

I think today is the day. I've been procrastinating, but I have no excuse not to do so today. A nice lady spun out and rear-ended me in Montana this past summer. My car is drivable, so I didn't bother getting it fixed immediately. I was able to buff out some of the minor scratches, but the front fender needs replacement (she was spinning and clipped me on the side). I'll be driving a rental for about a week. I'm sure I'll be tring to find the clutch reflexively, even though the rental will be an automatic. Anyway, wish me luck!

I "pressed the clutch" a few times on the way home. Fortunately, I got a Nisan Frontier, which is very similar to my Nissan Xterra, so everything else is the same.

@MALUSE Even in Europe? Here in the US, we're "spoiled." I prefer a car with a clutch. Driving is more of an "active" thing. But so far, I have manged not to crash this automatic.

@MALUSE Ah, I did not know that. In Europe, India, and other places, people are still used to driving clutches. Here in the US, we are "spoiled," and most people would have no idea how to drive a manual transmission.

Once it's done, you'll be glad it's finally off the check list. Better that it's the truck that is needing to be fixed and not your body (oh man, been through that last year). Good luck!

@TheHorse Well I'm just saying that you can fix the truck fairly easily, but hopefully you didn't get hurt in the accident that you had to get yourself "fixed". In our accident, I was ok, but Hubby got a broken rib and the year was no fun for him. By now, all the pain is gone, but it took a super long time to heal.

@much2say I'm not getting myself "fixed"! I might still want to have children. But I was not hurt in the accident.

Well, I was at the body shop today. But I don't think they work on humans. What did you have to get fixed this past year?

When our car was rear-ended, it stayed in the repair shop for 3 days just to replace the rear bumper and the tail light. The issue is we cannot use the car for 3 days.

@TheHorse nothing of that sort. We just have to wait for our car to be released.

Because the lady was "nice", pony put up an act of being "nicer", and so he could have got a decent amount to give us a party, which he let go...now he has no money no nice lady and we have no party.

Not being able to buy a car--can't afford the insurance---don't take this the wrong way but I LOVE stories about cars being fixed and cost!!

@TheHorse One gets used to what they have and have to use another will be hard but if it is only for a week I am sure you can tolerate it.

I survived it. It was actually a nice truck. I took a picture of it, but it may have disappeared somewhere in the bowels of my computer.
