Chili for Dinner for Chilly Night

I decided to make a pot of homemade chili for dinner tonight. It's cold and something nice and hot was needed to fill our bellies with. I paired it up with some cornbread stuffing and garlic bread. I was going to steam some broccoli but hubby said that was enough. Another words, he didn't want any veggies tonight.
He did get kidney beans which were in the chili but that is it. He usually eats his chili on top of rice, but I didn't cook any tonight. I actually forgot. He's been doing a bit better with both his blood sugar and blood pressure and did not get yelled at today when he saw his diabetes doctor.
This was a perfect meal for a cold night. What did you have for dinner tonight?

Chili is perfect for cold nights. That's great he had a good doctor's appointment and his blood sugar and pressure are good.
Yesterday, I had an omelet with steak umm and tomato covered in dairy-free sour cream. It was very good.

Chili sounds really good. We had bitter melon soup, baked broccoli and tri-tip. My husband had rice and I don't eat rice just the meat and vegetables.

@infatuatedbby Not really. I like rice and gravy and will eat it with beans on top but that is about it. Oh I forgot about jambalaya. That's a Cajun dish of the area that everyone loves. I'm actually cooking it for dinner tonight!

@crazyhorseladycx He will continue to train one police department in LA this year. I'm not sure if he will even go to his qualifications when that comes up later in the year. He's ready to tackle some of his own projects and I have a few for him too. ha!

You really made me hungry this time. We have the beans in the food cabinet that I bought last month. Until now it is waiting to be cooked into chili beans just like that in the picture.

No, I do not. I have been doing this for about 3 years now. I can look at food now and not want it. I do not get hungry a lot. In summer all I really want to do is drink. I can go to the store now on a fast day and do grocery shopping if I want.
