Claudia has promised to come with the children today.
She will be doing some gardening most of the day while Sofía and I will be at the kitchen.
I was planning on teaching Sofía how to make a quiche, but Claudia had thawed some chicken thighs. Sofía loves to cook but Claudia won´t let her touch fire so she is only a cookie cook.
I am sure that she is old enough to start cooking, so today I´ll give her her first class.
At what age did you learn to cook, if you did? How about gardening?

This is so good for her. I learned to cook pretty late and that too after my marriage at the age of 25

I edited my post. Sofía (9) is learning to cook. Carolina (29) is her older sister and of course she cooks.

@LadyDuck Sofía makes cookies, but Claudia does not allow her to do anything that involves fire. Yesterday I taught Sofía how to turn on the gas.

@marguicha Yes, if Carolina is 29 of course she is old enough.
I remember that I made my first pie when I was 10, but I often helped mom in the kitchen even when I was younger.

I think I was a teen when I learned to cook. As for gardening that’s my moms job and boyfriends

I am assistant in the kitchen of my grandma. but I cannot really cook back then because my grandma will always get the ladle. Then I learn to bake, she cannot meddle with me because grandma do not know how to bake.
I cook food that my grandma do not know so she cannot meddle

I have never milked a cow in my life. In fact, I would be afraid to go so close to a cow

@JudyEv I know. I only see cows in fields when we go somewhere in a car or bus.

@marguicha It's all about what you grow up with and what you get used to, I guess.

Quite young. I leant it while spending time with mom and grandma. They showed trust in me and that encouraged me and I even developed interest in it. I do the same with my children. They are wonderful cooks.

I think that some mothers overprotect their kids. Small children can do many things.

@marguicha Actually. Children are smarter than what we think of them. They can handle themselves well if we show confidence and trust in them.

I was around 12 when I learned how to cook. I was never an avid gardener.

I started to cook after I got married, but I love to cook. I think that it is very creative.
