Joe Cocker was born on May 20, 1944 and was an English singer. He is #97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers. Cocker sang in the genres of rock, blues, soul and pop. He formed his first group in 1960 but couldn't find a winning formula either with a group or solo. His first recording contract did not yield him a hit; and the label did not renew the contract. Finally, with a recording of "With a Little Help From My Friends", he and his Grease Band found a #1 spot on the UK charts and #68 on the US charts. The rest is history!
Tracks:
1. With a Little Help From My Friends
2. Woman to Woman
3. The Jealous Kind
4. Black-Eyed Blues
5. I Think It's Going to Rain
6. Cry Me a River
7. You Are So Beautiful
8. Feeling Alright
9. Delta Lady
10. Darling Be Home Soon
11. High Time We Went
12. The Letter
I love Joe Cocker's gritty voice and spasmodic movements. The picture is from 1970 when Joe was still that "wild child". Enjoy "With a Little Help From My Friends". I have chosen the live performance in 1969 from Woodstock. It's how I like to remember Joe Cocker:

Joe owned that song! His Mad dogs and Englishmen album in 1970 featured live performances by Cocker. One song he performed I really like is "Cry Me A River."
